Can I sell rings I 3D print with Morcano?

What the Terms allow, by plan, and what is never allowed.

Open Morcano Studio

Yes, on the Seller and Studio plans. They include the commercial licence: you may sell the physical rings you print from your designs, and each design gets a licence certificate. On the Free and Maker plans the rings are for your own use and gifts. The exported files themselves can never be resold on any plan. This is a summary of the Terms, not legal advice.

What the Terms allow

Free and Maker
You may print physical products from your designs for your own use and as gifts, but not sell them.
Seller and Studio
You may also sell the physical products you print, with no "made with" notice on the product or the listing. Each design downloaded on these plans gets a licence certificate with a code, which you can show to a marketplace or a client.
Older plans and the beta
Plans bought before October 2026 (Explorer, lifetime Maker, Merchant) keep the terms they were bought under; Merchant includes selling. Pieces made during the free beta, before paid plans launched, may still be sold on the terms of that time.
Never allowed
The right covers physical objects only. You may not resell, share or redistribute the exported files (.stl, .3mf and others) or the library models, extract or reverse-engineer the underlying formulas, or use them to train an AI model.
Manufacturing
The licence is limited to 3D printing (FDM, SLA, DLP, SLS, MJF). Mass-production techniques such as injection moulding need a separate agreement. A contractor may print for you if bound to confidentiality and non-retention of the files.
When a subscription ends
When a Seller or Studio subscription ends, you stop making new products for sale and have 30 days to sell the stock you already made.

What stays your responsibility

  • Text, SVG patterns, logos and 3D models you upload remain yours. You are responsible for holding the rights to them, in particular before selling.
  • Printer calibration, slicing parameters, shrinkage compensation, and choosing non-toxic, skin-safe filament are your responsibility.
  • Marketplace rules are separate from the Morcano licence. See How to sell 3D prints legally.

Questions

Which Morcano plan lets me sell what I print?

Seller ($19 a month, or $180 a year) and Studio ($39 a month, or $360 a year) include the commercial licence. Free and Maker are for personal use and gifts. Current prices are on the plans page.

Can I sell the STL or 3MF file itself?

No. The exported files cannot be resold or redistributed on any plan. Only the printed objects can be sold.

Do I have to credit Morcano on my listings?

No. On Seller and Studio no "made with" notice is required.

Can someone else print the ring for me?

Yes, a third-party printing contractor may print on your behalf if it is bound to confidentiality and non-retention of the files.

I made rings during the free beta. Can I still sell them?

Yes. Pieces made during the free beta, before paid plans launched, may still be sold on the terms that applied at the time.
