Open the ring generator

Render of a band with MORCANO lettering around the outside.

In Morcano Studio you type your name or any words and place them outside or inside the band. The studio rebuilds the ring around your text at the size you chose and checks the file before you download it, so you can print it on a home FDM printer.

How to put a name on a ring

  1. Set the size

Choose a standard ring size. The studio sets the exact inner diameter.

  2. Type your text

Enter your name or words and choose outside, inside or both.

  3. Read the status card

Check Print-ready, the dimensions, watertight yes and shells 1.

  4. Export

Download 3MF, which keeps AMS colours, or STL.

  5. Print

Use a home FDM printer, standard PLA and a 0.4 mm nozzle.

Tip.Text on the outside is engraved 0.6 mm deep by default, three layers at 0.2 mm, so it reads even in one colour. Engraving inside the band is 0.15 to 0.3 mm deep, because the inside is the part that has to fit a finger.

Try it in the studio

The free plan gives 3 designs a month on each generator. Paid plans are on the plans page.

Questions

Can the name go inside the ring?

Yes. The studio places your text outside the band, inside it, or both. Deep engraving stays clean on a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.

Do I need 3D design experience?

No. You work with a handful of controls: profile, size, width, text, pattern and platform. You never touch raw geometry.

What do I need to print it?

A home FDM printer and standard PLA. The rings on the Morcano site were printed on a Bambu Lab printer.

How do I know the file will print?

Every export is checked before it downloads: watertight geometry, a single shell and sufficient wall thickness. If a setting will not hold up, the studio tells you which one to change.

Licence

On the Free and Maker plans you may print your designs for yourself and as gifts, not for sale. Selling the printed pieces needs the Seller or Studio plan, which include the commercial licence and a licence certificate for each design. Pieces made during the free beta, before paid plans launched, may still be sold on the terms of that time. The exported files themselves can never be resold or redistributed, on any plan.

This is a summary. Read Can I sell rings I 3D print with Morcano? and the Terms, which are the authoritative text.
